Should we be selfish? Regardless if we are single, married, with or without children? Or no?

I honestly feel like it's important to put self first. In the sense of making sure you are a happy and whole before you even consider relationships, children or a marriage.

When you do receive your relationships, marriage, and/or children it's even more important to be selfish (practicing self love, and indulging in your happy place) so that you can be at peace with yourself. I feel that the peace you have internally will then pour into your relationship and children! What do you think?

Being Self•ish shows how dependent or independent you are. Anyone can choose to share their energy in anyway they see fit. Yet getting the desired response you want is totally up to the perception of the person as well as yourself.

If you not straight , what makes you think you could care, love or support anyone else . Save yourself first . Especially if you are all they have , no one can or will save them but you .

Its a hard thing to implement in everyday life. I’m just starting to apply self preservation to my life. Overstanding at a very young age that my purpose is in alignment with the service of others, so its a very hard thing for me to be selfish. I disagree with being selfish. Jealousy and selfishness have no business being in a relationship of any kind. Yes, put self first in all aspects of life! I completely agree. I’m in the space of finding balance and not depleting myself because I have a mindset of I can go farther together w/ my people than by myself. However, continually tryna pour from an empty cup can manifest as putting your needs on the back burner, feelings of being owed something, anger, negative self talk, which then leads to a cycle of habits that need some unlearning. So for me it looks like creating and maintaining boundaries. It is a process to get to that point I agree with cultivating behaviors of self preservation but being selfish is not something I feel is necessary. In my perspective I love myself enough to make sure the people around me are empowered and feel supported. Reality is I gotta be good to myself to be good to you bcuz we are all reflections of within. My biggest dilemma about my mindset is knowing I see the God in you so how could I front on you when a struggle is a struggle. I got you periodt, I be feeling hella obligated but nah I can see the God in you n that u need a Sistar light So now ima take my time for me n fill my cup but i’ll create an additional space for you where yo can get this overflow, n then theres boundaries in that space. The word selfish is a description of one who disregards others to allow space for ones own merit. In my opinion there’s a difference between selfishness and self preservation. Love yourself more by actively participating in your self care, however what does that look like? It is different for everybody. In my Sistar Circles I always reiterate its a practice and its your choice what that practice entails because all that you need is within. I do not believe what is described in this space is being selfish I view it as a practice of self control and self preservation.

I feel like it is important to be selfish with ourselves, not that we’re taking anything from anyone else. It’s just we can’t pour from an empty cup. We need alone time with our minds to properly function within a higher vibration. God-consciousness so time speak.
